Patricia (Pat) McKeon Elliott Swann of Mint Hill, NC went to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 13, 2021 under the care of Novant Hospice (Matthews). Pat was born in Providence, RI on November 18, 1935, the daughter of John Cullinane and Addie Sue Limerick McKeon. Pat moved to Charlotte as a young girl and was educated in the Mecklenburg County school system. She graduated from Central High School in 1953.
She began her career as a part-time sales clerk while in high school. She moved into management at the Unit Buying Control Office at the Sears Retail Merchandise Distribution Center. She married Joe Swann on December 1, 1979 and moved to Stone Mountain GA. She finished her career after 39 ½ dedicated years at the Fashion Distribution Center in 1992 in Tucker, GA.
Joe and Pat moved back to Charlotte in 1992 and settled in Mint Hill. They joined Hickory Grove Baptist Church in September 1995 and quickly found a group of loving caring people in the Unity Sunday School Class. Pat soon found her place of service as a member of the Counting Committee and serving fellow church members at the Wednesday night church suppers. She faithfully served in both areas until Covid-19 changed all of our lives.
Pat had talents not known by many. She enjoyed ceramics, painting, crafting and working in her flower gardens.
Left to remember happy family gatherings are her husband, Joe Swann of Mint Hill, NC; sister, Jacqueline Rion of Lexington, NC; sons, Donald Vance Elliott Jr. of Raleigh, NC and John Swann (Eve) of Oak Island, NC; grandchildren, Michelle Mullins (Seneca), Zackery Hinson (Lisa), and Jeniffer Lovelace (Reggie); great-grandchildren, Caleb and Ryan Hinson, Taylor and McKenna Lovelace and many wonderful nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
