Paul was born in Tioga, New York and attended school at the Owego Free Academy where he was a champion wrestler. Upon graduating he joined the Marine Corps and was stationed at Camp Lejeune. While in the Marines he spent time in Japan where he climbed to the top of Mount Fuji. Upon returning stateside; he, his wife (Margo) and son (Gerry) continued to live at Camp Lejeune. Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, they moved back to New York for a number of years.
During this time, Paul earned multiple degrees from a local college. Paul and Margo later owned Sherwood’s Truck Plaza in Lounsberry, NY before making the move back to NC with their daughter, Victoria to enjoy the warmer weather. There, Paul worked for and retired from Freightliner Corporation as an Electrical Engineer. Later in life, Paul took great joy in spending time with his family and especially caring for his Grandson, Devin, as often as possible. Paul was also very involved in the Charlotte Rifle and Pistol Club where he was a competition marksman and also coached the Jr. Air Rifle League.
While Paul was a very quiet person, you always knew he was cheering you on and sharing in the joy around him. More recently, he enjoyed spending time with his companion, Sze Kueh. Paul’s steadfast confidence and positive energy will be missed by all who knew him.
