He was born on January 26, 1957 in Newton, MA. He was a current resident of Midland, NC. He was predeceased by mother, Ardrith and father, Edward. He is survived by his loving wife, Jacqueline of 31 years, daughter, Caitlin (Brad) Gorman, son, Philip (Alexandria) Corbett, and granddaughter, Piper Blair (arriving February 2026). Phil is also survived by his brother, Richard (Anne) Corbett, sister Linda (Steve) Whelan, brother, Kenneth (Karen) Corbett, and sister, Joyce Pelletier. He is also survived by nieces, Andrea and Rose and nephews; Timothy, Ryan, Sean, Patrick and Luke. He also leaves behind several cousins and their families.
Phil passed as he lived his life as a caring man and always there to help others. In Phil’s passing he was able to donate his liver to save another person’s life.
Phil held many positions in his life. Manager, Business Owner, Construction Supervisor and most recently refurbishing old furniture and making them new again with his attention to fine details and artistic ability.
He loved spending time with his friends and family. His flair for making people smile and laugh was one of the many special traits that he had. Anyone who met Phil liked him immediately, and those who truly knew him fell in love with him. Phil was a great man, and family was everything to him. He made sure to always call on birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays. He would also love to send emojis on his cell phone to make others laugh. He had a flair about him to make everyone smile around him and always had a great joke to tell. He loved taking photos to ensure that he always had memories to reflect back on. His favorites were selfies and snapchat funny faces.
This world will not be the same without Phil in it with us all, but he would not want us to mourn in sadness but celebrate him with love and laughter as that is how he lived.
A celebration of life is planned for December 13, 2025, at 11:00am at McEwen Funeral Service – Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road Charlotte, NC. The Family asks that if you plan to attend the celebration to please wear your best Ugly Christmas Sweater as Christmas was his favorite time of year.
