Langston was an active member of Central United Methodist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina for over forty years. During his time there, he served on every committee, was a proud member of the United Methodist Men, founded the community garden, and spent countless hours volunteering in the food pantry and cooking for a variety of community outreach events.
Langston founded his business in 2006. Holding many licenses including General Contractor, Mechanical Licenses, Plumbing Licenses and a variety of water conservation and protection certifications.
An avid fisherman, Langston loved to have a rod in his hands! He and Bobbie spent many days on the coast of North Carolina attempting to take dominion over the fish of the sea!
The best green thumb this side of Heaven, Langston could grow anything! He found great joy in giving his crops to friends, family, and the community through the church food pantry. His crops over the year would begin in spring with snow peas and radishes. The hot, North Carolina summers would yield tomatoes and peppers, while the cooler fall days brought squashes and pumpkins of all sorts! Even in the winter months, his bounty continued with onions and collard greens! He would always say that he only put it in the ground, it was GOD that grew it!!
Most important to Langston was sharing his faith in Jesus. He honored God as a husband, a father, a friend, and a business owner. Langston was the Hands and Feet of Jesus in his community and beyond. He always shared the Good News and walked in a manor worthy of his calling.
A a celebration of life for Langston will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Central United Methodist Church, 6030 Albemarle Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.
