Richard Lee Askew

In Richard’s passing he has left behind his wife of 55 years Beckey, son Tim, stepdaughter Desiree, 4 grandchildren, Jesse with wife Stephanie, Chase, Chelsea and Hannah, plus 3 great grandchildren, Angelique, Aidan and Dylan, sister Rosa, brothers Duke and Billy along with brother in law Buzzy, sister in law Oma Faye and 7 nieces and nephews.

Richard loved working in his yard and spending time with family and friends. He was employed with the United States Postal Service for over 30 years. He used these years of experience to be in charge of Hickory Grove Baptist Churches mailroom where Richard and his wife have been dedicated members for several years. He later left to work with Aldersgate Retirement and Nursing Facility transporting the patients to their doctor visits and even to social activities. He had always loved being around people and will now be truly missed.

A memorial service for Richard will be held Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Hickory Grove Baptist Church Harris Campus Chapel, 7200 E W.T. Harris Boulevard, Charlotte, North Carolina 28215.
