

Born in Charlotte, Richard, known as Rick, was the son of the late Robert Chrysler Dellinger and Nellie Turner Dellinger. He graduated from Myers Park High School and went on to manage Peebles Department Store until he changed careers in 1988. He became a realtor eventually serving as Broker in Charge at Coldwell Banker United and then at Keller Williams Realty until he retired in 2017. Rick was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, faithfully teaching Sunday School and serving in various areas of the church through the years.
Rick was preceded in death by his mother, father, and his niece, Shannon Dellinger Taylor. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Vickey Austin Dellinger; daughter, Robyn Marlin and husband David; son, Christopher Mark Dellinger and wife Cristy, all of Mint Hill; grandchildren, Brooke Feeney (Chase) of Alamorgordo, NM; Jonathan Marlin (Brittany) of Oakboro, NC; Juliet and Eloise Dellinger of Mint Hill. Two great-grandchildren, Peyton and Adaline Feeney. Also, surviving are brothers Bobby Miller (Linda) and David Dellinger (Tracey); sisters Dianne Dellinger and Linda Ribe (Bob) ,as well as, 9 nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 7200 E WT Harris Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28215 with a service following at 12:00 p.m.
