Richard was employed as an outside electrical salesman with The Hardware & Supply, Sacks Electric, and Sandhill Electric. He also earned his real estate license and sold real estate after he retired. He enjoyed golfing, pickleball, and spending time with family.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved first wife, Patsy Hiney (d. 1993).
He is survived by his beloved wife, Raye Hiney; his children, Stephen Hiney (Cathy), Mitchell Ramsey, Donna Ramsey Winecoff (Jeff), and Jeffrey Ramsey; his grandchildren, Doug Hiney, Jennifer Evans (Cory), Ashley Hood (Eric), Barclay Brantley, and Dana Bigelo (Blaine); his great-grandchildren, Tucker Evans and Baylor Evans; his sister, Della Mae Coffman (Dick); his brother, Robert Hiney (Brenda); and many other loving extended family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Matthews Presbyterian Church, 207 W John Street, Matthews, North Carolina.
