Richard F. Lewis Sr.

Mr. Lewis, age 80, of Charlotte, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at his home. He was born May 14, 1933 in Pittsville, Maryland. Mr. Lewis retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service. He also retired as a security supervisor of NCNB. Mr. Lewis was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.

The service to celebrate the life of Richard Farrel Lewis will be held 11:00 AM Friday, August 2, 2013 at McEwen Funeral Service - Mint Hill Chapel with Reverend Henry Ward, officiating. Interment will follow in Charlotte Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Sarah Tyson Lewis; son, Rick Lewis and wife, Christie, of New Salem; step son, Tommy Gaddy and wife, Janice, of Mt. Gilead; three grandsons, Cameron, Tyler and Jordan; three sisters, Virginia, Alice Lee and Dorothy; and a brother, Ralph.
