Robert graduated from Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, North Carolina, completing the HVAC R Degree Program—an early reflection of the steady focus and care he brought to the work of building, maintaining, and improving the world around him.
He recently retired from Woodward Management Partners, where he served as a maintenance supervisor and earned a reputation as “Mr. Fix It.” Through multiple licenses and certifications in Heating and Air, electrical safety, and service training, Robert approached his responsibilities with attentiveness and sound judgment, offering help in ways that were practical, dependable, and quietly generous.
Outside of work, Robert found joy in fishing, boating, and riding his motorcycle. He valued talking with and visiting friends and family, and his warmth often showed through an easy sense of humor that put others at ease. He also loved animals, a simple and sincere expression of the compassion that shaped his everyday life.
Robert will be remembered most for his kind heart and love for people—qualities that were evident in the way he listened, the way he showed up, and the way he made others feel seen and cared for.
He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Longstreet and family of Hickory, NC, Kathryn and Bryce Vascik and family of Hickory, NC, and Cindy Allen and Josh Oakley of Chicago, IL; and sister, Mary and Rodney Evans of Mineral Springs, NC.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rebecca Allen; and brother, Billy Allen.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on August 8, 2026, at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227, and the family will receive friends following the service.
