Robert Clayton Henderson

Clayton graduated high school in 1962 and shortly after graduation he joined the Navy. During his time in the Navy, he proudly served in Vietnam. After his time in the military, Clayton had a career in construction and sales. He later started his own real estate company.

He loved watching and attending NASCAR races and Dallas Cowboys football games. Clayton loved fast cars, especially corvettes. He had a great sense of humor and was extremely witty.

Clayton was a devoted Christian. He was a biblical teacher and Jesus was everything to him! He was a great friend and stand in father figure to many.

Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, Roy K. and Nellian Henderson. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Henderson; daughter, Tisha Henderson; brother, R.C. Henderson; and granddaughters, Chloe and Grace Margraves.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Charlotte, NC 28227. A celebration of life will follow. Clayton will be laid to rest on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 9:00Am at Salisbury National Cemetery Annex, 501 Statesville Boulevard Salisbury, NC 28144.
