He graduated from Monroe High School and attended Wingate and Belmont Abbey Colleges. Wayne proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in the 8458 Military Police Battalion during the Korean Conflict. He was active in many civic organizations, serving as President of the Local Post of the Protective Association, TPA State Board of Directors, State President and longtime member of the American Legion. Wayne retired from the Walsworth Publishing Company in sales. He lived in the Mint Hill area and was a member of Philadelphia Presbyterian Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, Mrs. Kathleen Barbee, Mrs. Sadie Hockenberry, Mr. Mildred Pass, Mrs. Francis Lundy and Mrs. Helen Helms, one brother, Donald Wolfe and his first wife Mrs. Carolyn Thomas Wolfe.
Wayne is survived by his second wife, Barbara Jordan Wolfe, one step-son, William Franklin Jarman III, and one step-grandson, William Dock Jarman.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 12:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227 with a visitation held one hour prior to the service.
Interment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park.
