Sally Grice Wooten

Born on December 2, 1931, Sally was the beloved daughter of George and Maggie Grice. She was the youngest of ten children and cherished the close bonds of her large family throughout her life.

In December 1948, Sally married the love of her life, Kenneth Wooten. Together they shared a lifetime of love and devotion, raising five children and building a home centered on faith, family, and service to others.

Sally was a devoted Christian wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Her greatest joy was caring for her family and creating a home filled with love, kindness, and unwavering support. She was a woman of quiet strength whose faith guided every aspect of her life.

A longtime member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Sally faithfully served her church family in many ways. She sang in the church choir, participated in children's programs, Vacation Bible School, and numerous church ministries. She loved serving the Lord and sharing His love with others through her faithful service.

Sally is survived by her children: Sandra Durham; Scott Wooten and his wife, Kathy; Cheri Garcia; and Susan McKee and her husband, Terry. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Wooten; and her son, Kenneth Wooten Jr.

She also leaves behind ten grandchildren and a multitude of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her unconditional love, gentle spirit, and steadfast faith.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Cabarrus County for the compassionate care provided to Sally during her final days. A special thank you is extended to her registered nurse, Erin, and her CNA, Astella, whose love, kindness, and dedicated care brought comfort not only to Sally but to her entire family. Your compassion will never be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Samaritan's Purse in Sally's memory, honoring her lifelong faith and heart for serving others.

Though Sally's presence will be deeply missed, her family finds peace in knowing she is reunited with her loved ones and in the presence of her Savior. Her legacy of faith, love, compassion, and selfless service will continue to live on through the generations she so dearly loved.

Visitation will be held at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227, on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, followed by the Funeral Service in the chapel at 1:30 pm.
