Sam was blessed with a strong work ethic. He served in the US Army from 1966 to 1968. He had a long career with Duke Energy where he ultimately retired. He was also a board member of the Mint Hill Volunteer Fire Department, ASHARE, and the National Homebuilders Association.
More important than work was his family. His wisdom and attention to detail will be greatly missed.
Sam is survived by his wife, Charlotte Goodson Kennedy; his sons, Kevin Kennedy (Fauna Moore) and Kyle Kennedy (Melanie); his grandchildren, Tori Kidd, Ashleigh Knight (Braian Vielma), Ava Knight, Autumn Kennedy, and Alexander Kennedy; his brother, James Kennedy (Patricia); and many other loving extended family members.
Services will be held privately.
