The family will receive friends at McEwen Mint Hill Chapel on Saturday August 3, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Graveside Services will follow at Robinson Presbyterian Church Cemetery at 11:30 am.
Sam was born August 5, 1953 in Charlotte, North Carolina, son of the late, Samuel Lloyd Wallace Sr. and Hope Sullivan Wallace.
Sam attended Independence High School and Central Piedmont Community College’s Diesel Mechanic Program. Sam worked with his father as a Diesel Mechanic at Concrete Supply Company. He spent the rest of his working career, 30 years, as Operations Manager at the Charlotte Merchandise Mart.
Sam was a devoted son, brother and friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all. Sam was paralyzed in an automobile accident in 1982. After the accident, he continued his career for 30 more years. Life threw Sam a lemon and he made lemonade. He was always upbeat, had an infectious, constant smile and an incredible sense of humor.
In addition to his parents, he is now reunited in heaven with his nephew and buddy, Christopher, who passed away in 2010.
Sam is survived by his brother, Timothy Neal Wallace of Charlotte, sister, Cornelia Hope Goodman of Midland and many cousins.
Donations can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
