A native of Waxhaw, she was the wife of the late Paul V. McGuirt. Mrs. McGuirt was a charter member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and served there faithfully until her death. She retired from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools as benefits officer in 1987.
She is survived by her son, Chip McGuirt and his wife, Debbie; daughter, Susanne Foster and her husband, Lindsay; grandchildren, Jason Foster and his wife, Liz, Jessica Phifer and her husband, Verne, Jonathan Foster, Carrie Allen and her husband, Jeremy, and Laura Winner and her husband, Jordan; and great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Luke Foster, and Colton and Caroline Allen.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 20, at Hickory Grove Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
