

Mrs. Potter was born October 17, 1932 in Conway, SC, daughter of the late Ernest and Gussie Jenerette Jordan. She had lived in Matthews most of her life and was a member of Matthews Baptist Church and enjoyed attending and fellowship at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. The joy of her life was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed talking with people and traveling home to Conway to visit her relatives and friends. Mrs. Potter was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard H. Potter, Sr., a son, Lennie H. Potter, Jr., and her brothers and a sister.
Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Price, and her husband Barry of Weddington; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Potter of Monroe; four grandchildren, Clayton Potter and his wife, Aneta, Chip Potter, Ashley Brooks and her husband, Jason, and Nicole Price; three great-grandchildren, Natalia Furr, Seth Potter and Bela Potter; a sister, Thelma Roberts; a brother, Nathan Jordan; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will gather at McEwen Funeral Service – Mint Hill Chapel on Thursday, August 8, 2013 to receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Buddy Pigg officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents at Willow Grove Retirement Community for their care and friendship over the past 5 years. They would also like to thank the professional staff at Novant-Matthews, especially those in ICU and Immediate Care, for their care over the past days.
