Stan graduated in 1960 in Spartanburg, SC. After high school, he joined the US Navy and served as a machinist mate from 1960 to 1966. His tour of duties took him to the Middle East and the Persian Gulf on the ships USS Greenwich Bay and the USS Intrepid. Stan was very proud of his military service to his country.
During high school he met and married his first wife of 57 years, Catherine Ellen Wofford who preceded him in death in 2019. Together they had 3 children.
While attending Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church in Charlotte, God allowed Stan to find love again. He met and married Toni Smith on March 24, 2024.
Stan was a tire manufacturing engineer for 36 years, serving Uniroyal, Firestone and General Tire/Continental Tire.
He was a friend to all, never thought of himself above or better than anyone else. He never met a stranger. Stan loved Doo-wop music, motorcycles and Nascar racing. But above all he loved his family, his church and his dog, Sonny.
In addition to his first wife, Stan was preceded in death by his parents, James Otis and Overa Eunice Littlejohn, siblings John Kendrick, James Rupert, Aaron Macaggi, Robert Smith and Parniece Woody, and step-daughter Stephanie Bohannon.
