Born on July 10, 1946, Stella lived a life marked by devotion to family, steady purpose, and the quiet grace of someone who found meaning in the moments that matter most. She was a resident of Mint Hill, North Carolina, formerly of San Marcos, TX and Panama.
Stella graduated from Cristobal High School with the class of 1964. She continued her education at Chaffey College and later graduated from University of California at San Bernadino in 1969, reflecting a lifelong commitment to learning and to building a strong foundation for the years ahead.
A gifted and patient spirit, Stella loved painting—an interest that reflected her thoughtful nature and her appreciation for beauty and expression. Above all, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren, taking deep joy in shared days, familiar traditions, and the memories made together.
Stella will always be remembered as a loving grandmother who deeply cherished time spent, and memories made with her grandchildren, who were her greatest joy. Her legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely, and in the enduring bonds she nurtured within her family.
Stella is survived by her husband, Nick Unger; her children, Naomi Unger (Peter Santi), and Shem Unger (Shannon); her grandchildren, Joseph, Noah, Jonah, and Elijah; and her loving siblings, Tony (Elaine), Cathy and Mariaelena.
She was preceded in passing by her parents, Anthony J. Kucikas and Gladys Graú.
