Tom was born February 8, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York, son of the late Thomas E. Thweatt, Sr. and Beatrice Johnson Thweatt. He attended school in New York and graduated from Brooklyn College. Tom was always active in community anch church activities and spent his career in banking and retired in 2005.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Barbara B. Thweatt; a son, Thomas Thweatt, III; daughters, Suzette Thweatt-McQueen and Nicolette Thweatt-Grant; a brother, Lawrence V. Thweatt; and six grandchildren.
The family will gather at the funeral home to receive friends on Sunday, February 9th from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 10, 2014 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to National Parkinson Foundation in memory of Thomas Elward Thweatt, Jr.
