He was born on Dec. 22, 1958, in Charlotte, to DuWayne and Joyce Houston Kjos..
He had been a self-employed master carpenter for thirty years. Tim took great pride in his workmanship.
He was a lifelong member of the Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Mint Hill, NC.
Tim loved sports, especially football (the New Orleans Saints) and baseball. He especially enjoyed the City of New Orleans. Tim enjoyed music, especially The Rolling Stones. He also loved his 1970 red corvette.
Survivors include three children: Trina St. Martin and husband Erik, Charlotte; Travis Kjos and Tyler Kjos, both of Mint Hill, NC; his parents, DuWayne and Joyce Houston Kjos, Mint Hill; his granddaughter, Kaydence Kjos, Surfside Beach, SC; his brother, Darren Kjos and wife Helen, Mint Hill; and his sister, Cheree Morris and husband Tony, Savannah, GA.
His family will receive friends on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, from 2-3 p.m. at the McEwen Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Rd., Mint Hill, NC., followed by his funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Tim’s casket will be closed during the visitation. Rev. Sonny Rogers of the Bethel Baptist Church in Monroe, NC, will officiate. A private family burial will be held in the Philadelphia Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Mint Hill.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
