On January 31, 2026, Tina went home to be with the Lord, a moment of peace and promise for a woman whose faith guided her every step. Born on March 3, 1962, in Charlotte, North Carolina, she grew into a woman whose kindness, intelligence, and unwavering faith shaped every chapter of her life.
A proud graduate of Independence High School, she excelled academically and graduated with honors. She continued that dedication at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. Her time at UNCC was marked by achievement and community—she was a regular on the Dean’s List, a devoted member of Delta Zeta sorority, and a cherished little sister of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. These experiences gave her lifelong friendships and a sense of belonging she treasured deeply.
She worked during her high school and college years as the supervisor of the animal characters at Carowinds. She went on to work for 25 years for Piedmont Airlines, US Airways and American Airlines and then for 5 years with Novant Health Matthews.
Above all accomplishments, her heart was always anchored in her love for her family and her kitty cats. Her greatest devotion, however, was to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith guided her choices, shaped her character, and sustained her through every season of life. She lived with a grace that reflected her belief in God’s goodness, and she shared that light generously with those around her.
Tina was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Williams, her mother, Metris Williams and her brother, Ronnie Williams.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Ed Wilds, who cherished every moment of their life together. She also leaves behind her brother, Tim Williams and his wife Phyllis; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Sibbie Williams, Sam Wilds and his wife Carol Ann, Carol Willeford and her husband Mike, Trish Wilds Barton and her husband Bob as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews who adored her. Her family was her heart, and she poured her love into each of them with unwavering devotion.
