Dearest Mae, 

I am thinking of you especially during this time since it marks the passing of your loving Todd.  I pray that time has helped you to recover from the shock of losing him.  I only wish you the best and that you remember the good times you shared together.

Mae, so saddened to read this and have missed our time to reconnect again in Az. We just found out of his passing. So one of our moments was squirrel hunting up on the Mogollon rim. I got a wee bit excited to shoot at this squirrel and started firing away. Apparently Todd was “ in the area” and hopping from tree to tree. He also took glorious pictures of our daughter Rachelle at6 months. She’s now 43..  Becky and Dick derwort

Words cannot describe how much you mean to me, Todd. You taught me so much. Truly. You helped me find - and listen to - my own voice.  You were kind to me and you helped me learn to be kind to me too. You saved my life, I believe that. I am who I am in no small part because of you. Your guidance, your wisdom, your gentleness, and your love shaped me into the person I am today. I love the way I love, I fight the way I fight, I care the way I care, I mother the way I mother, and I walk through this life the way I do because of you. 

You loved Mae with every ounce of your being, and that love was a beautiful thing to behold. You also loved Arizona and nature and had such reverence for the world around you. 

Thank you for everything. Your impact was huge. Your imprint is with me now as it will be for the next 60 years. I miss you deeply. I am sad but, mostly, I am grateful. Thank you, my dear friend. Thank you. 


Mae, although I didn’t know Todd well, he was so nice when we visited Prescott.
He made us a wonderful dinner and put up with our time sharing old memories of when you lived in NJ.
So sorry for your loss, take care of yourself.

Dearest Mae, no words can erase the loss you are going through now that Todd has passed.  I  pray that you find comfort in knowing he is at peace and the love you shared and the happy memories will always be in your heart.

     Todd was my treasured friend since about 1975.   His sense of humor was exquisite in the extreme.  We shared so many wonderful times in our long friendship.   Of his so many wonderful attributes Todd was of the kindest, compassionate and gentlest nature. He was never want to harm any living critter and viewed my pursuit of such with some skepticism. About forty years ago I was visiting him at his home in Washington Park Az. In Zane Grey country under the Tonto Rim or Mogollon Rim (Mohgyown). I asked him if he would mind me fishing the little creek that went by his house and as he was always quick to accomodate he said “Of course”. To Todd’s surprise in the course of an hour or so I came back home with a very lovely stringer of rainbow trout. I showed him how to clean and prepare them for the frying pan and he was most happy to just observe. Well we wound up having one of the most delicious and freshest fish dinners of our experience. Todd had not suspected that such tasty critters were lurking just outside his front door.
Another favorite memory of Todd was on one of the occasions that Todd, Mae, My wife Dana and I were out on the dirt tracks of Arizona looking for Indian ruins which was a favorite pastime. We had found the small ruin that we were searching for far up on a mountain in central Az. The Indians that built it had chosen the scenic lot of the area and we were admiring the view while poking about for any “treasure” that may have been left. Suddenly Todd let out a loud “Ding ding ding ding ding ding” which was his rendition of the sound a one armed bandit slot machine makes when signaling a jackpot. Todd’s jackpot turned out to be one of the most pristine and beautifully made flint arrow points we had ever encountered. It was a indeed a “treasure” as is the memory of the friendship I shared with Todd for forty six years. Todd was certainly a “unique” individual and I will miss him dearly.


I have only known Mae and Todd for a couple of years.  Whenever I would see Todd he would always be smiling and friendly. He was really a shining light of joy.  May he be with all  love and peace now.  

Todd is one of the most caring and compassionate people I have ever met. A real heart of gold. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without his kind words and support. I will miss him and remember him fondly for the rest of my time here. Until we meet again my friend❤️

Todd was an amazing man and a wonderful husband! Super intelligent and a beautiful caring soul! He loved Mae with all his heart! He helped me through many things, and we also had lots of laughs!! You are missed my friend but I know you are in heaven, no more illness and probably trying to help others as you always did here on earth! Prayers and love to Mae and family!

My dear Mae, 
I will always remember with fondness the times we all shared visits. Especially when you and Todd came to Chuck's cabin and Todd had a fit when he discovered a spider in the bed.
Loved our trips to Sedona and when we visited you in Prescott. I'm so happy we were able to spend time with Todd before you relocated to NC.

Todd was a kind & gentle man
He had a passion for cars and was very proud of his gun collection. 

HE WAS A GENTLE SOUL WHO LOVED TO PAINT.  TAKE CARE MAE YOU ARE IN OUR THOURGHTS.

Todd was such a nice person and he always had a smile on his face.
