Son of Will and Ruth Tucker of Lilesville, NC. He attended Lilesville high school and proudly served in the U.S. Navy and Reserves. He retired from Carolina Freight Carriers in 1992 after 30 years. He was a member of VFW Post 9488, loved to fish, adored his family, and also spent time coaching little and senior league baseball for Mint Hill. He was a member of Blair Road United Methodist Church since 1972.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jane Pegram Tucker, daughter, Vickie Streets (David), son, Tony Douglas Tucker Jr. (Amy), grandchildren, Juston, Stacey, Amber and Tyler, great-grandchildren, Presley, Piper, Boone and Avery, brother, Sam and Sister, Margie.
Family will receive friends on May 30th, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at McEwen Funeral Service - Mint Hill Chapel, Mint Hill, NC 28227. A Memorial Service to celebrate Tony’s life will follow at 11:00 a.m. Tony will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens with military honors.
