Vitale Viola

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Pietra Raia Viola; four children, Josephine (Jack) Brucia, George Viola, Pietra (Giacomo) Virgadamo and Jack (Dawn) Viola; nine grandchildren, Peter (Natalie) Brucia, Flavia Brucia, Sebastian (Jessica)Virgadamo, Josephine (John) Maness, Sarah (Alan) Rehberger, Pietrina (Josh) Peshel, Jessica Viola, Christopher Viola and Daniella Viola; and nine great grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by his two sisters, Giovanna and Giuseppa Viola. He was preceded by his parents, Georgio and Giuseppa Viola; and his brother, Giuseppe Viola.

Vitale grew up in Sicily and was a farmer, in 1970 he moved to the United States (New York) and reinvented himself by learning construction as he worked hard to provide a better life for his family. He moved to Matthews, North Carolina in 1994 and revived his farming talents by growing fruits and vegetables in his garden and sharing them with all of his family and neighbors. Vitale will be remembered by his family and friends for his devotion to the Lord and his Family.
