

He was born in Charlotte on April 15, 1941, to the late Ernest Frank Simmons and the late Frances Wallace Simmons.
He graduated from Harding High School in Charlotte.
Frank married Linda Harris on Sept. 3, 1976, at the First United Presbyterian Church in Charlotte.
He was a retired automobile and printing salesman.
Survivors include his wife, Linda, Lake Park, NC; daughter, Terri (Fred) Longietti, Charlotte; son, Tim Simmons, Indian Trail, NC; three grandsons, Grayson and Colton Cariaga, Charlotte, and Mark Simmons, Indian Trail, NC; three sisters, Mary Jean Lorick, East Columbia, SC; Dixie (Laverne) Shull, Cayce, SC; and Shirley Edwards, Statesville, NC; niece, Beth Everett, Charlotte; nephew, Jason Everett, Sunset Beach, NC; and several other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Lynne Simmons, and sister, Judy Simmons Leach;
His family will receive friends on Sunday, October 9, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. at the McEwen-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC. His funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 10, 2011, at McEwen-Mint Hill Chapel followed by interment in Forest Lawn East Cemetery in Matthews, NC. Pastor Kyle Thompson will officiate.
