Betty Jean Simmons

She was born on October 23, 1936, in Meigs County, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late William Edgar “Ed” McInturff and Mary Sue Harris McInturff. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Joe Simmons and six siblings, Burkett, Burley, Minnie, Grace, Wilba and Billy.

Betty was a devout Christian and witness of the Lord. She loved her family tremendously and enjoyed spending time with them.

Survivors include her two children, Rick Simmons (Lisa), of Murfreesboro, TN, Penny Dickson (Danny), of Rossville, GA, three grandchildren, Alex, Ashton, Jay Davin, two step-grandchildren, Christy, Cody, several nieces and nephews and a very close significant friend, Rev. Johnny Bankston.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 29, 2024, at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens - East.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday, January 29, 2024, at the funeral home.
