He was born on January 29, 1925 to the late Clarence and Lucille Giles and was preceded in death by his first wife, Bettye Swafford Giles, and his second wife, Ann Hardaway Giles.
Bill was a retired, self-employed wholesale florist. He was a member of McDonald Road Seventh-day Adventist Church. Bill loved gardening, taking care of his lawn, and was an avid sports fan.
Survivors include his daughters, Jayne Giles Wyche (Jim), of Collegedale, TN, Cheri Giles Cook (Sparky), of Cohutta, GA, Monte Lynne Giles, of Collegedale, TN, step-children, Russell Gilbert Hardaway (Leslie), of El Paso, TX, James Richard Hardaway (Marlene), of Collegedale, TN, Malia Hardaway Tolbert (Gary), of Hendersonville, NC, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 in the funeral home with Pastor George Pangman. Interment will follow at Plowman Cemetery.
