Mr. Young was born and raised in Birchwood, TN. He graduated from Birchwood High School and Lee University in Cleveland, TN, was a member of Ooltewah Baptist Church and the American Legion. Bill retired from the US Air Force as a B52 Crew Chief serving two tours in Vietnam. After retirement, he worked for the Cleveland City School System and McKee Bakery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dora Young; and daughter-in-law, Cissy Young.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Shirley Young; sons, Conrad Young of Dallas, TX and Stan (Sue) Young of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Daniel, Lindsay, Timothy, Mary and Rachael Young; 3 great-grandchildren; and sister, Mattie Stokes.
Visitation will be from 2 – 4 PM on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Ooltewah Baptist Church, 5514 Main Street, Ooltewah, TN 37363.
There will not be any funeral services and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
