He was born on October 20, 1933 to the late Walter and Alverta Wolbert. He was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Susan Marie Wolbert Mull and six brothers.
Blain was a faithful member and served as a deacon for many years in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He served in the Army from 1953 to 1956. Following his years of service, Blain worked as a brick mason until he retired at the age of 75.
He was an avid gardener and a big collector (especially of toy trucks). Blain loved to travel on missions trips and use his skills in masonry to bless others. He enjoyed walking on the beach and touring historic homes with his wife, but what he loved most was spending time with his family. He was a wonderful man, who will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Shirley Parker Wolbert, daughters, Donna Wolbert Conerly (Jamie Franklin Conerly III) and Sarah Wolbert Kessinger (Robert Clark Kessinger II), grandson, Cullen John Conerly and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2022 at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2022 at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Herman officiating. Interment will follow at Collegedale Memorial Park.
