Buddy Robert Dawson

Buddy was a longtime resident of the Hamilton County area and graduated from Kirkman High School. He retired from Chattanooga Public School System and Combustion Engineering. Buddy was a member of Harmony Baptist Church where he served as an usher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and George Bidwell.

Buddy is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty Dawson; six children, John R. (Renee) Womack, Larry (Carol) Womack, Buddy Robert Dawson, II., Robin Massey, Belinda (Randy) Sliger and Starr (Epi) Vega; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters, Arlene (Buddy) Rogers and Jackie (Lamar) Hardin; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday and 11 AM to 12:15 PM on Wednesday at the Valley View Chapel.

Services for Buddy will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday at Harmony Baptist Church, 3832 Youngstown Road, Chattanooga, TN 37416 with Rev. Randy Bell and Rev. Michael Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6221 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421
