

Carroll Leon Howe, 79, of Chattanooga, passed from this life and entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, January 8, 2018. He was a loving and faithful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
One of nine children, Carroll was born to Wilkins and Mary Howe in Morgantown, Pennsylvania. He received his BS degree from Bob Jones University and his MBA from West Virginia University. After serving in the Army National Guard and earning his CPA degree, he used his experience and abilities to serve his Lord. He served as State President of the Gideons International in both New Jersey and South Carolina. He served on the board of The Wilds Christian Camp in North Carolina and Colorado. He served on the board of Biblical Ministries Worldwide, and was a founding board member of Leadership Ministries Worldwide. He also served in various ministries of his church.
As President of Hospitality Lodging Associates, he was involved in building and operating motels and hotels in several states. He enjoyed being a private pilot, the beauty of lakes, mountains and traveling.
He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 54 years, Angelyn Karleen; two daughters, Kim (Scott) Walk, Ellijay, GA and Kara (Rusty) Duke, Cartersville, GA; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother and three sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant daughters, Julie Carol and Sheri Roselle.
Carroll will be greatly missed by all who loved him, and will be remembered as a kind and generous man of integrity who loved his God and was ready to meet him. Alzheimer’s took away his memory, but not the wonderful legacy he leaves behind.
The family wishes to thank the staff at The Lantern on Shallowford Road and Hearth Hospice for their care and loving support.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Baptist Church on Shallowford Road, at 5 p.m. Friday with Dr. Ben Graham officiating. Viewing will be from 4:30 – 5 p.m. before the service at the church. The family will receive friends after the service.
Burial will be in Limerick, Pennsylvania, next to his two infant daughters. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 16041, Chattanooga, TN 37416.
