Carol, I only today read of Charles' death.

As a boy from age 11 to 17, Charles was the closest friend I had ever had. As a youth I sought his guidance. His friendship helped me through my adolescent years. I've always missed him and regretted we drifted apart. Now, more than ever.

Please accept my condolences.

Dear Mrs. Carol and Melanie,

I just saw this as I was looking for copies of obituaries for some of my family members (Aunt Ann, Granny Jewell and my Uncle Derel, who just passed away Tuesday). I'm so very sorry about your loss. It has been a very long time since I have seen you both, but I have such fond memories of growing up with you in my life. I pray your family is finding comfort in the Lord's grace, in each other and in your precious memories of Mr. Ball. I will be praying for your family.

Because of Him,

May you find great comfort in the Lord's rescue of Charles from the cancer which devastated his body. Though his absence here leaves a great void for you, his family, suffering seems to help in accepting the release from bodily afflictions. When you are reunited, all will be joyous and perfect; that has been our hope in the loss of our parents, siblings and dear friends. God richly bestow His grace and comfort upon you in this time of grief...Carol & Jim Pitts (Senoia, GA--SHS '60 &'59)
