

Collie “Bussie” Stamey, 74, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away Monday, July 18, 2011. A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, he had worked for B.H. Yerby Concrete for 35 years and retired from Sequatchie Concrete in 2008. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was the son of the late Pete and Grace Stamey. He was also preceded by a grandson, Jason Moser; brother, Ronnie Stamey and a sister, Phyllis Miller. Survivors include his wife, Betty Stamey; two sons, Ronnie (Evelyn) Barnes and Ricky (Lynette) Barnes all from Texas; daughter, Margaret Moser, TN; four grandsons, Brian (Katie) Barnes, TN, Christopher Barnes, TX, Joseph Barnes, TX and Logan Barnes, TX; six granddaughters, Heather (Johnathan) Rice, TN, Dianah Surber, TX, Nicole Hager, KY, Lacie Barnes, TX, Brandi Barnes, TX and Lorisa Barnes, TX; two great-grandsons, Briar Barnes, TN and Braden Wiggins, TX; two great-granddaughters, Haven Hernandez, TX and Katlin Hager, KY; brother, Ernest Stamey; two sisters, Carolyn Ballew and Dixie Ball; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. James Dotson officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416. The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. Thursday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
