Connie Marie Weatherly, 85, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 3, 2026, surrounded by family. Born January 21, 1941, in Maryville, Tennessee, she embodied the values instilled in her childhood—hard work, family devotion, and genuine hospitality—qualities that shaped every chapter of her life.
On May 25, 1967, Connie married Dr. James Calvin Weatherly at Brainerd Baptist Church in Chattanooga. Together, they built a thriving veterinary practice and raised two sons. During their 47 years of marriage, Connie was instrumental to their success, managing the veterinary office while nurturing her family at home. Later, she pursued a career in real estate. Yet her most meaningful role was caring for her son Craig, a special-needs child whom she supported with unwavering dedication, ensuring he had every opportunity to thrive and live a full, happy life. Dr. Weatherly passed in 2014.
Connie's greatest gift was her presence—whether welcoming people into her home, working tirelessly, or lavishing love on those around her. Her boundless energy and steadfast support were legendary, especially to her two grandchildren, Jonathan and Aleena, who treasured their "Nana."
Connie was proud of her Tennessee heritage. She loved Chattanooga and often said it was the best place to live. She also loved music, especially the songs of Dolly Parton. Music was often heard in her home, whether from her favorite CDs or her favorite hymns she played on her organ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James Calvin Weatherly, and her son Craig James Weatherly, who passed in 2017 at age 46.
She is survived by her son, Kent Weatherly, and daughter-in-law, Faith Weatherly; her grandson, Jonathan Weatherly and his wife, Kristina Weatherly; her granddaughter, Aleena Wright and her husband, Bernard Wright; and the many friends and extended family whose lives she touched.
Connie's legacy endures through the family she cherished and the countless lives enriched by her kindness and warmth. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, on Saturday October 10, 2026, at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 3:00 pm with Pastor Archie Moore officiating.
