William Irie “Dave” Barfield – 72, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012.
He was the son of the late Billy and Patty Barfield and was preceded in death by three siblings.
He retired in Pensacola as a Senior Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy. He was a Vietnam Veteran and received several decorations throughout his military career.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy R. Barfield, of Ooltewah, TN, five children, David Barfield, of Pensacola, FL, Tammy Lee, of Sandusky, MI, Michael (Delores) Barfield, of Pensacola, FL, Zackery Barfield and Kaitlin Barfield, both of Ooltewah, TN, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, brother, Butch Barfield, of NC, best friend, Carl Cartwright and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday at Ooltewah Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
