

A native of Kankakee, IL, David had been a resident of Ooltewah, Tn for 44 years after moving here in 1981.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; parents, Earl and Dorothy “Sis” Rauen of Kankakee, IL; brother, Earl S. Rauen of Indianapolis, IN.
David served honorably in the United States Air force from 1951-1955 as an Air Crew Chief and reached the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He worked for the Roper Corporation in Kankakee, IL then Harper – Wyman Corporation of Hinsdale, IL. David spent the later years of his career as a self-employed traveling sales agent in the Appliance Manufacturing Industry.
David truly loved life, especially with his late wife Lois and his very special friend, Marcella Potter. Many years of joy and happiness were cherished with them as well as the love and comfort they provided over time.
David equally treasured the years of love and joy provided by his niece Nancy (Nick) Goeckner and Shawn Tomlin; great nieces and nephews, Keli (Wyatt Walters, Jillian (Nathan) Schrage, and Seth Goeckner and Shanna May.
Over the years, David enjoyed golf and boating as well as the numerous friends he made along the way.
Honoring David’s wishes, there will be no formal visitation or funeral services. Soon, the family and closest confidants will have a final goodbye at the graveside service with United States Air Force Honors and interment in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
