A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, he was the son of L. J. and Mattie Roselle Scott and was a member of the Ridgedale Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class. He was also retired from the Electric Power Board after 41 years of service and was a US Air Force veteran having served in Europe during the Korean War.
Survivors include his two sons, Mark (Donna) Scott and Roger Scott all of Chattanooga; two grandsons, Matthew Scott and Jacob (Bailey) Scott; sister, Joyce Henslee, Dalton, GA; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, April 27, 2018 in the Valley View Chapel with Dr. Bill Owens officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 – 7 pm Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Friendship Sunday School Class.
