

Dorothy Whittle “Dottie” Boydston, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013. One of eight sisters who grew up during W.W. II in Liverpool, England, she has been a resident of Chattanooga for the past 66 years and became a U.S. citizen in 1969. A member of the Brainerd Hills Presbyterian Church, she was a founding member of the International Fellowship Club of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and also served as an official with the Miss Tennessee Teenager Pageant. She and her late husband Paul were owners of the “New to You” Antiques and Collectables. She also loved traveling to Europe to spend time with her family. Our Mom loved going dancing and singing and she never met a stranger. She was loved by all and left a legacy of unconditional love to her family. She will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was the daughter of the late Bessie and Arthur Whittle of Liverpool, England and was the wife of the late Paul Boydston and was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Bailey Elizabeth McKee and several sisters. She is survived by three daughters, Ann Boydston, Terry Boydston and Leslie (Arun) Khanna; son, Tony (Lucy) Boydston; grandchildren, Eric White (Jennifer), Mimika Livers (Zach), Donni Cannon (Todd), Vincent Porter, Nikki Sherwin (Michael), Rikesh Khanna (Heather) and Kayleigh and Lauren Boydston; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irene James and Betty Saxon both of Liverpool, England and many nieces and nephews. On her behalf, a celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Valley View Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in National Cemetery with the Rev. Dale Lovelady officiating. Arrangements are by the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
