A proud graduate of Chattanooga Central High School, Class of 1969, Doyle dedicated much of his life to serving others and his country. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of sergeant. His active-duty service spanned April 7, 1971, through May 14, 1974, and he continued serving in the Air Force Reserve until receiving his honorable discharge in March 1977. His military service remained an important and meaningful part of his life.
Doyle shared 40 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Linda Viola Quarles Housley, until her passing in 2013. Together, they owned and operated Maxi Muffler in Cleveland, Tennessee, and Chattanooga Propane in Ooltewah, Tennessee. Through their work and dedication, they built a life centered on family and perseverance. Doyle took great pride in providing for his loved ones, caring for his home and land, and enjoying time spent farming and fishing. He was also known for his generosity, independence, and willingness to help others.
Above all, Doyle will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. His strong work ethic, honorable service, generous nature, and steadfast character touched many lives.
