He was the son of the late Emiterio and Florina Garingan and was preceded in death by a daughter, Nenette Woods and two brothers, Rogelio and Ricardo Garingan.
He retired as a psychiatrist from Moccasin Bend Hospital and the Joseph Johnson Mental Health Center.
He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Chita Garingan, son, Joe Garingan, both of Chattanooga, two grandchildren, Brittany and Nicolas Woods, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Victor and Rosemary Garingan, of Brentwood, CA., Cesar Garingan, of Hayward, CA., and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Father Gilbert Diaz officiating. Entombment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson, TN.
The family will receive friends from 4 – 8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
