Grace Hamill

She was the daughter of the late Swan Dyke Eldridge and Rena Burns Eldridge and was preceded in death by her husband, Bert S. Hamill, daughter, Margie Hughes, brother, Doc Eldridge and sidekick Edith Thomas.

Grace retired as a waitress with the Towne and Country Restaurant after 34 years.

She was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church in Birchwood, Tennessee.

Survivors include her two daughters, Rena Sanderson, of Chickamauga, GA, Candy (Jeff) Hamill, of Chattanooga, TN, seven grandchildren, Loletia Johnson, Sammy Shoemake, Kathy Shoemake, Tara Sanderson, Ava Shoemake, David Sanderson, Grace Johnson , several great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, brother, James Shelton, of Cleveland, TN, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson, Tennessee, with Rev. Johnny Jones officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to New Liberty Baptist Church.
