Hazel N. Farmer

She was born and raised in Rockwood, Tennessee and moved to Chattanooga in 1948. Hazel was an avid reader and loved gardening and canning.

She was a member of Gospel Chapel Assembly in Rossville, GA.

She was the daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth Nelson and was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, George Edd Farmer and four siblings, Fred Nelson, Wilma Thier, Russell and Charles Nelson.

Survivors include her three children, Janice Parrish, of Chattanooga, TN, Gary (Debbie) Farmer, of Ooltewah, TN, Otis (Kimiko) Farmer, of Lusby, MD, four grandchildren, Heather (Dillon) Vanzant, of Ooltewah, TN, Holly (Larry) Swinea, of Ooltewah, TN, Brittany Farmer, of Chattanooga, TN, Zachary Laws, of Lusby, MD, five great grandchildren, Jacob, John and James Vanzant, Gracie and Landon Swinea, five siblings, Opal Neaves, of CA, Thelma Grimm, of NV, Robbie Van Winkle, of GA, Gladys Smith, of TN, Todd Nelson, of GA, and several nieces and nephews and her faithful four legged baby, Mitzi.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, June 1, 2018, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Noah Yarber officiating. Interment will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 31, 2018, at the funeral home.
