James Richard Davis, 69, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away Monday, February 23, 2015. A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, he was retired from Valley Mechanical. He was a member of of the Sheet Metal Union and in his spare time he loved golfing and organic gardening. He was the son of the late Samp and Geneva Davis and was preceded in death by a brother David Michael Davis and a sister-in-law Wanda Stringfield Davis. He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Davis; daughter, Maryann Walls; son, James R. Davis, Jr.; five grandchildren, David Ledford, Daniel Ledford, Cameron Davis, Parker Davis and Brandon Walls; brother Larry L. Davis; sister-in-law Jeannie Davis; nieces and nephews, Suzette, Annette and Denette, Lori and William Davis. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
