Mrs. Hicks was born and raised in Apison. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene “Buddy” Hicks; son, Eugene Hicks; parents, C. L. Bates and Ruth Rockholt; sister, Doris Bates; and brother, Calvin Lee Bates.
Surviving are her daughter, Marian (Colin) King; grandson, Trevor Hicks; great-grandsons, Travis “Peanut” Williams and Kyle “Bit” William; sisters, Patricia McGhee, Vesta (Phil) Waters, Kathleen (Tony) Sims and Lyda Johnson; brothers, Jack (Carol) Bates and William (Faye) Rockholt; and several nieces and nephews.
There will not be any visitation at the funeral home.
Graveside Services will be at 10 AM on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Plowman Cemetery with Rev. Fletcher Farris and Mr. Donnie Stafford officiating.
