Jo Ann Stephenson

She is resting at peace with her husband and son, Gilbert T. Stephenson and Garry L. Stephenson; as well as her parents, Otis G. Self, Sr. and Bessie M. Self; brothers, O.G. Self, Jr. and James O. Self; brother-in-law, James Randall; mother-in-law, Stella Stephenson; and father-in-law, Arthur Stephenson,

Jo Ann is survived by her daughter, Karlotta Brown and son-in-law, Wes Brown, Sr.; her grandson, Wesley Brown, II; her sister, Peggy L. Self; and her much loved sisters-in-law, Bettye Self, Bobbie Self and Ruby Randall; as well as several nieces and nephews who were like her children; several cousins and her fur baby, Lula; along with many close friends.

Jo Ann spent much of her life investing in her family and supporting and encouraging them to reach for their dreams. We were all blessed by her support and unconditional love.

The family would like to thank Jo Ann’s care team with Gentiva Hospice, Kelly, Tara, Donna, Kelly, Jane and Sue, for the wonderful care and love that they gave our mother and family during her illness.

Friends and family are invited to the Celebration of Life service at 3 PM Thursday, May 4, 2023, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Nolan Phillips from Westwood Baptist Church officiating.
