Judy Hodge was born and raised in Birchwood, TN. She graduated from Tyner High School and Edmondson School of Business. Julia was a former member of Tyner United Methodist Church and retired from First Tennessee Bank as a Trust Tax Accountant. After retirement, she and her husband moved to the Knoxville, where they were involved in helping with her three granddaughters. She enjoyed being close to her granddaughters and attended all of their activities. Nothing made her happier than to go to a sporting event, dance recital or piano recital for her girls. Being a grandmother was Judy’s greatest joy. She embodied the words of Mother Teresa, “If you want to change the world, go home and love your family.” Judy also had a sense of adventure and loved to travel with her family to the beach, the mountains or for Lake Tansi golfing vacations. She lived at the Villa’s at Lyons Crossing and was involved in that community’s monthly activities.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James “Sam” Hodge; her parents, William and Nellie Mae Malone; sister, Dortha June Malone; and brother, Kenneth B. Malone.
Surviving are her daughter, Jennifer (Kevin) Brinkmann; granddaughters, Molly, Emma and Megan Brinkmann; sister-in-law, Evelyn Burlee Malone.
Visitation will be from 12 to 2 PM on Friday, April 9th at the funeral home.
A Graveside Service will follow at 2:30 PM at Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
Flowers would be appreciated but those wishing are asked to make memorial contributions to either Sacred Heart Cathedral School, Knoxville Catholic High School Auditorium Fund, or Catholic Charities of East Tennessee.
