

Larry Allen Miller 78 years old of Signal Mountain passed away suddenly on Thursday June 4, 2026 with his wife Susan, daughter Laura, step-grandson Landen and friend Jennifer lovingly by his side. He was born in Soddy Daisy, TN on January 29, 1948 and has been a longtime resident of the Signal Mountain, TN area.
Larry is survived by his wife, Susan; daughter Laura (Jeff) Knox; stepdaughter Heather Thorne; sisters Linda Ratchford; Judy (Kenneth) Harkleroad; Candy (Terry) Benson; step-grandchildren Bridge Blakey; Avery Blakey and Landen Bass. He is also survived by his cherished other family members. His parents, Carlos and Grace Miller, previous wife Barbara Winton Miller, daughter Holly Miller Law, sister Sarah Dye, and Brother Carlos “Sonny”, preceded him in death.
He served our Lord and Savior as Pastor of various churches for close to 50 years in the area with 33 of those years being at Sawyer Missionary Baptist Church. He loved God with all his heart. He was passionate about his church and the children who attended. He believed it was so important to influence the young children to love Jesus.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His hobbies included cooking, gardening and restoring iron skillets. He jokingly said that he was a man’s man, a macho man, and he refused to wear a pink shirt.
Larry was a kind, compassionate and thoughtful soul always striving to make everyone around him happy with his generous spirit and delightful sense of humor. He always put God first, then his great love for his family. He always strived to be a great Christian example for others. He had strong values and did everything with honesty and integrity. His legacy will carry on forever reminding us that we should always love the Lord and one another.
A memorial service in his honor will be held at Sawyer Missionary Baptist Church at 7247 Sawyer Pike, Signal Mountain, TN. on June 20, 2026 at 2 PM with Matt Payne Officiating.
