He was born on August 28, 1944 to Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Harry Underwood in Putnam, FL.
Leonard graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Business Administration. He then served in the United State Navy as a Navy Seal and was assigned to Seal Team 5 and 6 during the Vietnam War. Leonard was awarded many honors, including the First Good Conduct Award, Vietnam Service Award with 3 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal and National Defense Service Medal.
In 1989, Leonard met Sherrie Lynn Antonitz and they were married on September 11, 1993 in South Lake Tahoe. They resided in Costa Mesa, CA for many years and later retired in 2017 to Ooltewah, TN.
Leonard is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Sherrie Lynn Underwood.
There will be no services or visitation at the funeral home.
Interment will be at the Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, CA at a later date.
