

He was born October 16, 1946, in Long Beach, CA, and graduated from Salinas High School.
For 30 years, he was a firefighter in Salinas, CA, (Division Chief) where he facilitated computerizing the department. He wrote computer programs for El Sausal Middle School and Natividad Medical Center in Salinas, CA. He was a financial officer for 16 years for BPS Info Solutions (UltraCart) of Hixson, TN.
Loyd loved the games of tennis, waterskiing, fishing, house boating (35 years), snow skiing, and flying his own airplane. He served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam war. He was an active member of the Experimental Aircraft Association.
Loyd was loved for his unwavering love of his family, his wonderful sense of humor and his caring personality. From his friends and family “I love you, man!”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Annie James and brother, Larry James.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Jan Huntley James, three children, Paul Jeantrout (Emily), of Edmond, OK, Lisa Jeantrout Tew (Jonathan), of Ooltewah, TN, Leslie Watts, of Marina, CA, 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, brother, Chuck James, of Springville, UT, sister, Deanna Williams (Bob), of Rocklin, CA, and several nieces and nephews.
A private family celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
