Margie Jo Howard, 76, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away Monday January 24, 2011. A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, she was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Vernon Howard; infant son, Howard Hixson; son-in-law, Mickey Walker; two brothers, Daniel Walden and Tommy Walden; sister, Mary Hanes and a half-sister, Francis Howard. Survivors include four sons, James (Jan) Hixson, McDonald, TN, Clyde (Janice) Hixson, Dalton, GA, Danny (Mary) Hixson, Old Fort, TN and Kenneth Hixson, Chattanooga, TN; two daughters, Brenda Johnson, Boaz, Alabama and Pat Walker, Ooltewah; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ricky Kesley officiating. Interment will be in National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Jamie Hixson, Phil Hixson, Nathan Hixson, Keith Hixson, Jeremy Johnson and Brandon Walker. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
